I - Rules of procedure, Article 31 - Special conditions for Member Composers of the College joined

31.1 - As part of a policy of general interest, Member composers are selected by the Fund from among composers of written music, whose scores can be played by a performer or a group of performers, and whose occupation as a Composer has been checked without prejudice to style or belonging to a given trend;

and in particular:

31.4 - Membership as a Member Composer is subject to the following requirements:

  • being at least 30 years old and no longer enrolled in a programme of study;
  • certifying membership of a society of writers and composers, for example SACEM (France) or SIAE (Italy), or submitting a declaration on honour of not being a member of a society of writers and composers;
  • providing a catalogue of composed and written works, (…), according to the format provided by the Fund and submitting it in compliance with the technical requirements stipulated by the Fund;
  • providing a few verifiable references of written works and broadcast recordings;
  • submitting the application file duly completed and signed, together with the required documents.

II - Our Code of Procedure also contains an Artistic Charter that you must approve, unreservedly and irrevocably, to become and remain a member composer:

Code Chap. V, Article 4.1 - ARTISTIC CHARTER

  • "The Villa of Composers embraces a diversity of aesthetic expression. Composers who join the Villa thus adopt a viewpoint devoid of prejudice and accept this ARTISTIC CHARTER";
  • "The Villa of Composers wishes to promote, without restriction of language, original musical scores that are likely to appeal to the broadest possible public".
